Deadly nightshade earrings

Belladonna, also known as deadly nightshade, is a very poisonous plant with smooth black berries. 

Centuries ago, belladonna was believed to be an ingredient in a witch's "flying ointment," a mixture of herbs that a witch would use to fly. Some took this as a metaphorical flight, due to the hallucinogenic nature of the herbs, and some believed that it enabled literal flight. 

These tiny belladonna flowers hold a black freshwater pearl in the center.

Materials

These earrings are made entirely of sterling silver. Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver with 7.5% copper, which is added to make the metal more durable. There is no outer plating- the metal can be polished over and over for a lifetime.
