Cypress is a symbol of grief and lamentation going back to Ancient Greece and Rome. It comes from a myth about a boy named Cyparissus who accidentally killed his pet stag. The boy's grief was so powerful that he wanted to mourn forever, and he transformed into a cypress tree.
This teardrop-shaped pendant features a molding of a real sprig of cypress. It hangs on a dainty 18" chain.
Pendant size: 21mm tall, 11mm wide.
Materials
This necklace is made entirely of sterling silver. Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver with 7.5% copper, which is added to make the metal more durable. There is no outer plating- the metal can be polished over and over for a lifetime.
