Joan of Arc was a teenaged peasant who brought the French army to a series of major victories in the Hundred Years' War. She experienced vivid visions of saints guiding her, starting around age 13, hence her account of touching St. Catherine with the ring. She was captured by her enemies in battle, who tried her for heresy and executed her at 19 years old. 

This is a replica of a ring that many believe is the ring worn by Joan. Although it is impossible to establish its ownership at the time, metal analysis has dated it to her time period and it matches her own description of the ring, which was discussed in her trial. The legend goes that the ring was confiscated by her enemies shortly before her execution, and was passed along to an English noble family, who kept it for centuries. 

In her trial, Joan said her ring had the names of Jesus and Maria inscribed on it. You can see on the top of the ring, in worn-down gothic lettering, the abbreviations "IHS" and "MAR." IHS is a contraction derived from the Greek word for Jesus, a recognizable Christogram from that era. 

The original ring is made of a silver-tinted bronze, but this replica is solid sterling silver. 

Due to the carvings all around the band, I have made it in only one size: roughly a US  size 7.5. The approximation is because this ring has an unconventional shape, not totally round. So it should be most comfortable on a size 7.5 finger, possibly also fitting a 7 or 8. 

Please note that I have done the carvings individually on each ring, and they are meant to look slightly worn, so there may be some variance with from what you see in the pictures.
