Snowdrop book locket

Snowdrops are an old symbol of consolation, due to their association with graveyards. They are often the first flower to bloom in the spring, hardy enough to bloom under a blanket of snow. 

This pendant features a tiny snowdrop flower on the cover of a book, which opens to reveal a little rectangular compartment. The inside is big enough to fit a folded piece of paper, a pressed flower, or another small token.

Materials

This necklace is made entirely of sterling silver. Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver with 7.5% copper, which is added to make the metal more durable. There is no outer plating- the metal can be polished over and over for a lifetime.
