"While I live I'll crow" Victorian seal necklace

This pendant was made with an authentic Victorian wax seal. The carving shows a rooster with the words "While I live I'll crow," symbolizing the courage to speak your mind. 

The seal itself comes from a seal wheel, a popular novelty item with several designs arranged around the outside of a wheel. These novelty seals were popular in the mid 1800s, and this rooster motto was a pretty common design to find on them. 

The pendant comes on a dainty beaded chain.

 Materials

This necklace is made entirely of sterling silver. Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver with 7.5% copper, which is added to make the metal more durable. There is no outer plating- the metal can be polished over and over for a lifetime.
