September 2024 Collection Preview
Here is the preview of the upcoming collection! It will be available at 4 PM eastern time on Saturday, September 7.
Amber Necklace
$140
This pendant features a large Baltic Amber cabochon, wrapped in twisted silver with a floral detail at the bottom.
The speckles inside are called sun spangles, and each stone has a unique set of inclusions. They look like flakes but they are actually flattened bubbles- amber is a fossil of prehistoric tree resin, which often captured air bubbles as it slid down a tree 40 million years ago. These are high quality specimens, honey colored and very clear. The reflective silver behind them almost makes them glow!
Pendant size: 18mm across, 30mm tall
Chain length: 18 inches
Gold Braided Ring
$345
This ring is made of three braided strands of solid 14k gold. The strands were woven by hand, so the braid has a look that's more organic than perfectly symmetrical.
Sizes (US): 2.5, 3, 5, 6, 7, 7.5, 8.5, 9.5
Width: 3-4mm
Thickness: 1.5mm
The ring will come with a green velvet ring box that is perfect for gifting!
Daisy earrings
$120
These earrings feature two sparkly citrine stones with hand-formed daisy petals underneath.
Flower size: 19mm tall, 17mm across
Rhodolite Garnet Ring
$58
This ring features a rich maroon rhodolite garnet. The stone is set in dainty points of silver and sits on a comfortable half-round band.
Stone size: 6mm
Ring sizes (US): 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 7.5, 8, 9, 10
Medieval Stag Necklace
$115
This necklace was made with an authentic medieval wax seal, carved by hand in 14th century France.
The seal features a rustic stag image, surrounded by Lombardic lettering. This was somebody's personal seal, so the lettering indicates his name and the stag was his chosen symbol. The letters say "+S" (meaning "the seal of") and then "GOLAVTDESBORDES". The first part is likely a series of abbreviations, followed by the surname "Des Bordes."
While we may never know anything about this person (the seal was found by a metal detectorist), this seal is a beautiful and personal peek into life in the late Middle Ages, when a wax seal was used to authenticate someone's correspondence or signature.
I made these necklaces by stamping the seal into wax, and then casting the wax impressions in silver. I did not duplicate the pendants with a mold- they were each stamped individually, so you can expect to see minor differences in each one.
Reversible Flower Necklace
$106
This reversible pendant was molded from two real flowers: a chamomile blossom on one side and a tiny spray of aster on the other.
The chain has two strands of faceted gemstone beads: tanzanite (blue), sapphire (yellow), and rhodolite garnet (pink).
Chain length: 18 inches
Pendant size: 20mm tall, 15mm across
Curio locket
$280
This locket is designed to hold a small curiosity like a dried flower. There is a glass cabochon in the front that slightly magnifies what's inside.
The round box of the pendant has an elegant floral design around the outside. The locket slides open with a hinge pin at the top and clasps shut at the bottom. As with all locket clasps, try not to play with it too much to avoid wearing it down over time.
I will send you a set of dried flowers to put inside! The pendant is not watertight, but as long as you keep them dry then dried flowers do not rot or wither over time.
Pendant size: 21mm across
Inside diameter: 18mm
Chain length: 26 inches
Leaf earrings
$65
These earrings feature two dainty leaves hanging from sparkly textured hoops.
Size: 33mm tall, 17mm across
Rosemary necklace
$80
Rosemary is an old symbol of remembrance. Like many sweet-smelling herbs, it has a history of use in burial rites, distributed to mourners or placed on a grave.
It is famously referenced in several Shakespeare plays, such as Ophelia's line in Hamlet: "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember." Centuries later, rosemary would be an emblem of memory in the Victorian Language of Flowers.
This pendant is a casting of a real sprig of rosemary from my garden. Each pendant is totally unique, made with a different specimen.
Pendant size: 30-40mm tall
Chain length: 24 inches
Blue Opal Necklace
$153
This necklace features a sparkly blue Australian opal, surrounded by hand-formed decorative flourishes.
These are triplet stones, which means there it is a layer of opal sandwiched between a slice of black stone and a layer of clear quartz. The black backing brings out the color of the opal, and the quartz on top protects it (opals can be very delicate).
These opals are not hydrophane (porous enough to soak up water), so you do not need to worry about color loss or breakage from drying out.
The pendant and chain have a cool grey patina.
Please note: These opals come in a variety of shades of blue, so please see all the group for an idea of what to expect.
Pendant size: 12mm across, 26mm tall
Chain length: 18 inches
