Fern necklace

This pendant features a detailed fern cut out of silver on a dark background, like a shadowbox. It is set behind a window of portrait-cut quartz in a teardrop shape. 

The pendant hangs on a chain with elongated links.

 Materials

This necklace is made entirely of sterling silver. Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver with 7.5% copper, which is added to make the metal more durable. There is no outer plating- the metal can be polished over and over for a lifetime.
