Witch seal pendant

This pendant was made with a Victorian wax seal from the 1840s. It shows a witch riding a broomstick with the words "All have their hobbies." She brandishes a walking stick, like in many witch illustrations from that time period. 

This seal design is in very high demand for antique seal collectors! It is rare to come across an authentic example from the 1840s like the one I used here, and it is my most prized seal in my whole collection.

The pendant was made by pressing the seal into melted wax, then casting the wax in sterling silver. Each one has its own individual organic shape.  Please view all the pictures to see the variety you can expect.

The pendant comes with a patina to bring out the details. It comes on a bright silver chain by default, but I can also switch to an oxidized chain upon request (for an example, see the picture of the necklace being worn).

Materials

This necklace is made entirely of sterling silver. Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver with 7.5% copper, which is added to make the metal more durable. There is no outer plating- the metal can be polished over and over for a lifetime.

All jewelry comes in gift packaging, although it may not match what you see in the photos. I typically use some kind of dried flowers from my garden and ribbon on a small jewelry box (with an alternative for countries like Australia with restrictions on botanical imports)
